Dekendieren have been spotted all over!
About Martijn Stelt:
Martijn brings his passion for architecture and heaps of technical knowledge to everything he creates. A versatile craftsman found his place while studying Interior Architecture and Urban Design at the Utrecht School of the Arts. Martijn was employed by an artisan furniture upholsterer in ‘s-Hertogenbosch where his passion first unfurled. He further refined his skills with furniture and product designer Piet Hein Eek. In 2012 it was time for his own upholstery studio: Studio Stelt was born. In addition to furniture, Martijn searches for other possibilities to transform objects through upholstery.
Dekendieren are the first where Martijn applies a conventional upholstery technique to unconventional objects. With these woolen blankets, common objects disappear, and come back to life in a new form. Martijn recycles with form and function. Woolen animal coats are made into manmade products with graphic patterns and in this way, the wool finds its way to the animal again. The organic look of the animals combined with the dynamic graphic patterns of the blankets create an exciting and playful object. A great product to make and to have!
